Talk on Services at Drupalcamp Stockholm 2009

I just held a presentation about services and my plans for services 3.x at Drupalcamp in Stockholm. Everything went well except that I was so nervous about running out of time that I teared through the presentation in 20 minutes. But here are the slides if you missed something.

Moving Images, a (very) brief summary

Yesterday, I was at the Moving Images conference in Malmö. I won’t review it as it wouldn’t come out as well as I would like it to. But I will say this: it’s was so refreshing to hear new ideas from new people, but themed around the concepts that relate to what I do. So many industries represented in the same hall. The same, few, questions more or less. I think we all left with a reminder that it’s the wide approach that takes us forward.

I’m taking over from PM Nilsson at Newsmill who wrote about the future of journalism yesterday. In contrast I thought I wouldn’t write about media for once, but about the line of work I’m actually in: internet consulting.

For all my Swedish readers, below is a presentation that I held at APG Sweden tonight. Together with Jonas I put together a string of ideas regarding the increasing connections between digital and physical. It was nice and liberating to talk to a group of people that appreciate and value the abstract and visionary, for a change.

What corporates can learn from 24 Hour Business Camp

It’s been a long and tough week, and the weekend is looking to end in a not-so-good way either as I’m feeling a bit sick. But I feel I must write a few lines about an amazing event that I took part of this week.

I am, of course, talking about 24 Hour Business Camp that took place at Hasseludden Yasuragi, just outside of Stockholm. If you are not familiar with the event you can read up on it here. There has been so much media coverage of the event that one might think there is nothing add. Therefore, I wrote a few notes on the event from a more corporate perspective.

I never thought I'd be impressed by Ace of Base, but I must say they're on to something. It's refreshing to hear a major band move away from the traditional business model in order to make more money - not less.

There's a wide range of things being discussed on stage at the moment. I'm hearing a theme of methodology, as that's the way I'm inclined to think. How you can spot trends on a macro level, and how find specific interesting projects. A few thoughts:

Good Old Fan Club + How to make an Internet Strategy

If you're Swedish you might have read the news about Good Old merging with The Fan Club. This means I won't be CEO any more and can fully focus on internet strategy and advisory work. Yay! And maybe more blogging too. I haven´t quite decided how, where or about what I'll be blogging though. I'll get back to you on that. - UPDATE HERE :)

Let’s meet at Moving Images (or in SF)

Just thought I'd give you a tip before the weekend. Moving Images is a conference in Malmö that takes place June the 10th. The theme for this year is storytelling and the line up is really good. Winston Binch from Crispin Porter + Bogusky is one of the speakers for instance.

We've have been part of the reference group for the conference which means wifi and backchannels, among other things. You should sign up straight away!
